Join us as we explore the fascinating connection between the Boston Tea Party and Massachusetts Freemasonry as Alex G. Powers is joined by Bryan Simmons in Episode 132 of Historical Light.
We will be exploring the intersection of history and Masonic values through the lens of the Boston Tea Party and Massachusetts Freemasonry. As we celebrate the 250th anniversary of the Boston Tea Party, we must remember the significant historical connection that exists between it and Freemasonry.

Did you know that many of the key figures involved in the Tea Party, such as Joseph Warren, Paul Revere, and John Hancock, were also Freemasons? Freemasonry played an essential role in the events leading up to the Tea Party. It provided a platform for the colonists to discuss ideas and strategies for the betterment of themselves and their community. The values of personal freedom, individual rights, and unity that are central to Freemasonry were crucial motivators for the colonists.

The Boston Tea Party was a pivotal moment in American history and was fundamental to the fight for American independence. Its impact continues to be felt today. The principles of freedom, individual rights, and unity that were evident in the Tea Party remain integral to the values of Freemasonry as we know it today.

Our special guest for this episode, Brother Bryan Simmons, a member of the Grand Lodge of Massachusetts, will discuss the Grand Lodge of Massachusetts 250 Committee's plans to celebrate Massachusetts Freemasonry's 250th anniversary of the Boston Tea Party.
